Spruce Painting
I started painting as a teenager and eventually took my craft from Wisconsin to California in 1981. After completing my Art Degree at San Jose State University, I enjoyed completing hundreds of residential and commercial projects in the Bay Area until 2000 as "Robert Maveus Painting". Several of the comments on our "Testimonials" page will reference work performed there.

As a licensed California painter I did significant Victorian home restoration as well as new construction projects. During that time, I was proud to be a member of the Trades Guild in California which hosted the state's highest end crafts people. In 2001, I returned to my Wisconsin roots and have enjoyed partnering with many clients on both interior and exterior painting and carpentry projects.

I view each job from an artist's point of view. I enjoy helping people find the right colors to realize their vision of what they want in their home or office. I'm environmentally conscious and whenever possible use lines of products that are eco-friendly.

Rob performed nothing short of a miracle in transforming the cracked and water-damaged walls and ceiling of our dining room and hallway into glowing flawless surfaces.
It was much more than a paint job; it was major reconstructive surgery that left straight clean lines with not a hint of the ragged and uneven mess that we started out with.
He was patient and helpful throughout the whole process, from initial color selection to the final trim work.
His thoroughness and attention to detail was beyond compare, and the final result a true masterpiece.
Many clients have an idea as to what colors they would like to use.
We're happy to discuss and follow your ideas.
However for those who are looking for advice or direction on how to change or enhance a space through use of color, a consultation fee will be applied.
This can be included in the estimate when requested.
Different clients have different needs.
For interior jobs, if you need us to take care of moving all the furniture, wall hangings, etc. as part of the preparation for painting, we are happy to do that for a fee.
Ever wonder what "Cherries Jubilee" or "Habanera Pepper" might provide at the end of a long day?
These aren't exotic drinks or desserts, although they evoke the same promise.
Rather they are a few of the shades that now grace the walls of my home.
Admittedly, the painting project started with an element of fear, followed by, truthfully, shock, yet ultimately resulted in the home of my dreams.
These new colors now draw me into each room with warmth, energy and calmness.
Lately, the trend is toward using more color in home interiors.
