The deck was sanded, the stains were treated with a wood brightener, then the deck was sealed with a pigmented stain.
The results speak for themselves.

The fence was buried in bush and soil creating dry rot in the front yard in Kentfield, CA.
You'll notice through the progression of these photos where I reconstructed the fence framing, filled nail holes, sanded and painted the fence so it looks like new.
