John Michaels Decorating
Wallpaper has become more popular recently, and JMD would love the opportunity to update your environment with the latest patterns. JMD uses standardized painting procedures recognized by the PDCA, Painting and Decorating Contractors of America. You experience uniform quality and predictable results. Planning stage at John Micheals Decorating is based on listening on your needs and how you are wanting to either update or transform your environment.

John will schedule a date and time that works around your schedule, that will allow him to discuss and show you options around your needs. Concept Designs stage John will present his final recommendation based from listening from your creative direction. Adjacent Surface Protection is so important we gave it an acronym. We use specialty products and take special measures to ensure that while your walls will end up with a lovely new color, your floors and furniture won't.

We take pride in leaving your space cleaner than we found it. We use Duraliner(r) - a felt-backed rubberized padding - on hardwood or tile floors, and sticky plastic shielding over carpet.

Mission Statement - To work in a collaborative manner to enhance the interior and exteriors of our clients' home or workspace.
Always professional.
Always keeping promises.
Always leaving your space better than how we found it.
Born in Wisconsin in 1962, John Spent much of his early years working on a family dairy farm.
There he gained a strong work ethic and learned the importance of family.
When John wasn't working on the farm he would take long bike rides through the beautiful rural Wisconsin countryside.
Decorative Painting and Faux Finishing add dimension, depth, beauty and drama to your home or commercial environment.
Specialty finishes, textures and glazes create the convincing illusion of luxurious surfaces, intricate textures and rich materials.
John Michaels Decorating uses water based products which are the highest quality in the industry.
Safe for the environment, the artisan and your home.
JMD can help select and propose decorative finishes, colors, textures and sheens for your decorating project.
Faux wood graining, or Faux Bois is the artistic imitation of wood.
The craft has roots in the Renaissance with Tromp-l'oeil.
Today, John Michaels produces "faux wood grain painting" on non-wood surfaces to look like a particular species of wood.
JMD can "wood grain" your metal passage door or metal garage door to like Oak, Walnut, Mahogany, Olde World Pine, Bird's Eye Maple or even Cherry.
John combines his wood grain skills with color matching skills to recreate nearly any wood type or match existing wood.
JMD Offers faux and Decorative Finish Repairs.
All Paint contractors make repairs to drywall, plaster and trim before painting.
JMD offers the same services, but we can also recreate most faux finishes done by others.
John's 30 years' experience creating faux and decorative finishes allows him to recreate the color, sheen, texture and pattern of most any finishes.
He repairs the wall in the usual way and blends in the decorative elements to finish off the repair.
This "repair" service can eliminate the need to redecorate the entire room because of a damaged faux finish or decorative finish.
The Fireplace has been a traditional mainstay in home design.
While interior design changes, the fireplace has been left behind.
Now, JMD can update your fireplace with a brick lime washing or glazing.
Wooden mantles can be overstained with a new richer color, while keeping the original wood grain.
