For any purchase you're making, you should always do some research before buying something.
Check your paint options out there, application methods, etc. Use your findings to ask valuable questions and see how that custom paint shop responds.
Again, if you use Google Maps and Social Media platforms to see how consistent they are posting and interacting with their audience.
Also, check if they have all of their business's information published and easy to access.
These are indications that the business is always active with new customers and cares about their experience with the business.
One of the main things you want to look out for is what the industry calls "orange peel."
You don't want this and one of the ways to identify this is by seeing if there's too much texture.
You want it to look flat.
Make sure it's even throughout.
Although most custom paint shops may have their known prepping order, you should still hear them speak of cleaning, baking, sandblasting, and masking-off.
These words will indicate they are following industry best-practices.
Last but not least, read their reviews on Google Maps and Social Media (Facebook).
Pictures can tell you a lot.
Pay attention to the details, how crisp are the lines and how smoothness of the paint job.
HINT: A business that takes up close pictures is proud of showing off their great work which typically translates to great quality work.
