Gerald Garrett a Los Angeles transplant was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Where upon graduation from Springfield High School he entered a Painters Apprentice Program working for one of the Premier Painting companies in the city of Toledo (Charles F. Mann Painting). There he served a 3 year apprenticeship under Journeyman painters while simultaneously attending a night class in Painting and Decorating at the Carl T.Cotter school of apprentice for 3 years.

In the class he learned various painting techniques, color matching, job and equipment safety, project management and skills in professional painting application. Upon completing his training he moved to Los Angeles where in 1976 he began working for Bill Catron, a union paint shop here. While working for Catron he also took night classes at LA Valley College and later at LA Trade Tech to gain Business acumen, accounting knowledge and develop computer skills.

By the mid 80's Gerald Garrett Painting was born and starting to thrive. Among his many projects he was contracted by the US Postal Service to paint Post Offices throughout the greater LA area, painted the exterior of the famed West Angeles Cathedral and specializes in both Commercial and Residential work.
