As president of Pitre Painting Company, I feel strongly that you have a clear understanding of what entails a Professional Paint Job. I want you to feel secure and knowledgeable about our preparation, choice of products, liability insurance, workers' compensation, guarantee, and payment scheule. Our mission is to protect your home and/or building from Maine's extreme weather conditions - extreme rainstorms in Spring, hot and humid in Summer, cool and damp evenings in Fall, and cold and snowy in Winter.

These conditions create unusual degrees of expansion and contraction in the wood and other substrates. Homes and buildings are designed and built to prevent rain and snow from entering the wood and masonry substrates, yet this does happen. Our objective is to protect the surface of your home and building through our preparation and choosing the highest grade state-of-the-art stain and paint products.

We work with Benjamin Moore, Cabot, Sherwin Williams, California, Pratt & Lambert, and Behr products.
Services
The finish product has to be the best on the market and compliment the 1st coat, working well with the expansion and contraction of the surface.
I believe if all of the above are performed at the highest level (and the wood should not be wet from the inside out) then a professional paint job should last for several years.
As a professional painting contractor my specific purpose is to protect your home and/or building from Maine's rough seasons.
The extreme heat in the summer, cold snowy winter, snow sitting on roofs against siding, and intense rainstorms in the spring and fall can create unusual degrees of expansion and contraction in the wood.
I believe that the 1st coat applied on top of a professionally prepared surface is the most important coat.
If you open a can of oil base paint and left it exposed outside, within a week the thinners would evaporate and the clay would settle at the bottom.
It is my point of view that when you place this product on a wood substrate, the thinners evaporate, oils dry out and you're left with colored clay.
If there is any water in the wood, the sun and heat will draw the moisture through creating blistering, cracking, and eventually peeling paint.
